Isaiah 48 Commentary
When we mention the name of the LORD, do we mean it? When we act ‘reliance’ on the LORD, do we live it?
Stubborn; unyielding; rigid as iron!
We must investigate both ourselves and the events around our lives. Where is the God of Jacob?
The scripture wants us to look back at the events and appreciate the fulfillment of scripture. The LORD God is behind it all.
Could there be events that we must look at today to see how scripture is being fulfilled?
Without an obedient and submissive response to prophetic utterances, we find ourselves fighting the decisions of the LORD. We easily formulate doctrines to navigate away from the decisions of the LORD.
Believers are shareholders in the name of the LORD. Have we lived this knowledge to its full potential?
The Creator God rules. He is the power behind world events.
Yes, Israel is saved, but not because of its good shape. Salvation by grace alone! We understand this concept better in the New Testament!
Regardless, Israel should “heed the commandments”. Obedience is the key; not the condition. Obedience is the air that the redeemed of the LORD breathe! They are dead without it!
As for the wicked, “There is no peace.” Verse 22. How can there be peace outside the Kingdom of the Prince of Peace?
