Psalm 78 Commentary

‎Psalm 78 Commentary

‎The Bible is primarily a record of God’s “praises, His strength, and His wonderful works that He has done.” Verse 4.

‎These recorded facts must be communicated to our children. Don’t leave it to chance! Don’t let them learn these things from the streets!

‎‎The rest of us don’t have to cross the Red Sea on dry ground! We have a record to inform us of God’s greatness. This record is passed on from one generation to another – father to son.

‎‎But why?

‎‎Verse 7 answers. That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments

‎If a generation is hopeless, if a generation forgets the works of God, and if a generation is lawless, then you know who to blame. It means the father-to-son communication didn’t take place.

Yes, it’s a record of great works, but it is also a record of “failure to believe”. It becomes a “don’t repeat this at home” warning.

‎Humanity has a history of success and failure. Obedience brought success. Lawlessness brought failure.

‎Failure isn’t like a failure of a business deal. It means life and death.

‎Let men communicate these facts to their children!
