Psalm 28 Commentary

Psalm 28 Commentary.

Let the wicked be punished. This is David’s plea.

The identity of the “wicked” can be interesting. You and I would easily qualify under this category.

Do not take me away with the wicked. Verse 3. Hidden in this supplication is an admission of guilt.

There are many times when the saint must sit down and look at their own lives. They are the wicked whose deeds must be punished!

Nevertheless, here we are, subjects of God’s compassion. We can, therefore, pray: Do not drag us away with the wicked, with those who do evil.

Because of God’s compassion, we have received forgiveness. Like David, we can pray: “Be their shepherd and carry them forever.” We are now the sheep of God’s pasture.

This Psalm points to the chief Shepherd and His sheep. They hear His voice; they follow Him.
