Deuteronomy 31 Commentary

Deuteronomy 31 Commentary

Be strong. Don’t be afraid. Be courageous. Don’t be discouraged. The LORD God isn’t repeating Himself.

It’s for our leaders; it’s for us. It’s for every saint.

You can be strong but afraid. Then you lose the battle. You can be strong but discouraged. Again, you lose the battle. Stay strong. Stay encouraged.

You won’t see God but He is there with you. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. Strong words indeed!

Never say never! But God can say it! A very strong word indeed! And why not? He can always back it! Always. We have a good reason to be courageous! We are connected! Ever connected!

There is a battle to fight. Strength and courage are indispensable tools! The armory is the knowledge that the Creator God, the LORD God Almighty is ever with us!

Physical leadership changes from Moses to Joshua. But everlasting Yahweh remains in leadership and in command. He matches ahead of Israel. The conquest of Canaan is guaranteed! The defeats of Sihon and Og are samples. How the saint is never without samples!

Yes, Moses writes down the Law. Verse 9.

Hear the words of the LORD. Then you can learn to fear the LORD. Ingest the word. Then you can learn to follow carefully all the words of the law.

Songs transport the Word of the LORD. So the LORD commands Moses to compose a song; it’s the subject of the next chapter.
