Leviticus 5b Commentary
Injustice is treating the equal unequally. This definition makes the laws in the chapter unjust!
This chapter isn’t about justice; it’s about the grace of the LORD God. It’s about repentance and holiness! This thought changes our view of the Law of God.
The Grace of God is packaged to fit every budget!
This law is not enforced by a specialized government organ. You turn yourself in when you realize you are guilty. You don’t need lawyers to argue your case! You convict yourself!
Think about it and see how advanced this chapter is! The incredible beauty of the law is only adulterated by man’s wickedness! Imagine David had to be reminded that adultery and murder were sins! In a normal situation, the prophet Nathan would be needless! You realize you are guilty all by yourself!
The process looks like the following: – Sin. Awareness. Confession. Penalty for sin. Forgiveness. Restoration. You know you have been restored when the aroma goes up to Heaven from your burnt offering!
The Law isn’t all about sin and the penalty for sin. The penalty for sin isn’t the end product of God’s Law. Read the chapter again and see how restoration becomes the end product. It’s what the Law stands for – the Father’s wish to commune with His children but they must be clean.
