Revelation 10 Commentary

Revelation 10 Commentary

We thought angels looked the same! Chapter 10 introduces us to a special angel. His description would fit the description of the Son of Man. Probably angels take on different forms depending on the assignment.

Or more appropriately, the Son of Man appears in different forms! We know He showed up in human form…!

Of course, we can have our own questions because our world has pockets. A human being can only be in one pocket at a time. Divinity transgresses all these boundaries!

The small scroll remains a mystery. This event isn’t needless. The LORD God has shown us that there are certain things we shouldn’t know.

The scroll tastes sweet but feels bitter in the stomach. Could the message be mixed, good and bad news simultaneously?

“The angel astride sea and land” may refer to God’s total authority over creation. Verse 6.

The seventh trumpet is about to be blown. It brings to a close the prophetic era as the LORD God will have fulfilled all – the grand plan completed.

Many prophecies focused on the Messiah’s second coming – when He comes down in glory. But Isaiah and Zechariah detail the first coming in such fine print that you feel they saw the actual video of Jesus as the Servant. Isaiah also talks about global judgments which John duly repeats. We aren’t done yet! The LORD God is yet to show up big time!
