Exodus 36 Commentary

Exodus 36 Commentary: Overwhelming generosity of God’s people.

We have a moment to be proud of here. The generosity of God’s people overtook the needs. Moses had to stop the people from offering more. I don’t know if priests today would do such a thing – standing on the cash pipe!

Again Moses shows us the way to handle ministry resources. Let the spending departments handle the resources required for their work. We shouldn’t have any further interest or overbearing control. The field workers showed integrity by reporting that they had enough for the works. It’s indeed a high point.

Verse 8 gives us a picture on the composition of the workforce. We had both skilled and unskilled workers. Again it is such a beautiful picture because there is always something for every hand, skilled or unskilled. In chapter 35 we saw a long list of requirements. Expensive and less expensive items. They were all required. God’s people gave as the LORD enabled them.

With both materials and labor available the tabernacle takes shape as per design.
